Yangchigi Sonyeondan and Confined White Selected as July's Protagonists for 2026 Hello Rookie

In '2026 Hello Rookie', a rookie musician discovery project by EBS 1TV's 'EBS Space', Yangchigi Sonyeondan and Confined White have been selected as the protagonists for July.

According to the released '2026 Hello Rookie EP.15' video, the results for this month's Hello Rookie were announced after the preliminary stages of ten teams were completed. The announcement process included the impressions of the musicians after their performances and the judges' reasons for their selection.

Yangchigi Sonyeondan recognized for their capability as a pop band that draws audience response

The first team selected is Yangchigi Sonyeondan. In their selection remarks, Yangchigi Sonyeondan expressed that they were moved by the response, which was better than expected. Among the judges, Kim Hak-sun mentioned that Yangchigi Sonyeondan showed tremendous energy, enough to make the audience sing along to their songs. Additionally, he cited that they are a band that writes good pop with choruses that keep sticking in one's ears as the reason for their selection.

Confined White selected as the second team with a performance filled with desperation

The second team selected is Confined White. In the video, the judges evaluated Confined White's performance, stating that they showed the desperate expressions that can only come from people who make music. In particular, opinions were presented that they created an atmosphere that only Confined White could provide.

The members of Confined White revealed their feelings while preparing for this stage. The members said they approached the stage with a very serious attitude and stepped onto the stage with a heart as if they were praying. One member mentioned that they devoted themselves to practice, attempting bow playing for the first time for this stage. That member added that they practiced repeatedly to the point where the guitar was damaged by bow marks for the bow playing.
