"If living is harder than dying"... Conversations about life and death shared at a hair salon
In the 7th episode of the JTBC drama 'Salon De Nabi', characters share their reasons for continuing to live despite facing thoughts of death, set against the backdrop of a hair salon. The episode explores how small, everyday routines and connections to loved ones serve as anchors for those struggling with despair.

At the moment of contemplating the end of life, what made them grasp onto life again was not a grand resolution, but small, everyday things. In the 7th episode of the JTBC drama 'Salon De Nabi', set in the space of a hair salon, the story calmly unfolds the reasons why characters who had thought about death continue to live in their own ways.
"Because I want to see the end of the drama I watched with my grandmother"
Among the characters visiting the hair salon, heavy conversations about death and life took place. One character recalled a time when they felt extreme loss after losing their grandmother and confessed to moments so difficult they thought about death. What made them live again was the drama they used to watch with their grandmother. The very small curiosity of wanting to see the ending of the drama became the driving force that made them choose life instead of death.

Another character who experienced postpartum depression confessed that "the saying that you won't feel the hardship when you see your baby is a lie," stating that the baby being pretty and being depressed are separate issues. For those who have passed through moments of helplessness so intense they didn't even want to lift a finger, life existed not as a grand meaning, but as the process of enduring itself.
"I can't die, my younger sibling was sleeping in my room"
A character who had to give up their dream of being a soccer player mentioned the moment their life path changed due to an accident. During a time so bleak they contemplated death, it was their younger sibling who held them back. They shared that one day, upon waking up, they saw their sibling sleeping in their room and felt, 'I cannot die and leave this child behind.' Stating that even thinking about death was a blow to their pride, they calmly revealed the reason they decided not to give up on life.
A customer visiting the hair salon showed a cynical attitude, saying, "It's perfect weather to die." In response, the characters emphasized the will to live by saying that, like a spring day where vitality stirs, there certainly exist days with weather that makes one not want to die.
The weight of life sustained by daily routines
Even amidst heavy themes, the daily life of the hair salon did not stop. Acts such as checking hair dye cycles, performing shampoos, and advising on hair care provide a strange sense of reality in contrast to the tragedies of life. Like the monologue, "Today is the same as yesterday, and today is hard too," the characters live while carrying daily repeated pain and emptiness, but through everyday actions such as washing hair and dyeing it, they face tomorrow again.
