From Buldak Sauce to Nutella... What was the result of the 'unique Songpyeon' made by USPEER?
Members of the group USPEER reinterpreted the traditional Chuseok food, Songpyeon, using various unique ingredients such as Buldak Sauce and Nutella.
Members of the group USPEER reinterpreted the traditional food Songpyeon with their own unique personalities to celebrate the Chuseok holiday. In a video released on September 25, 2026, the members captured the process of shaping Songpyeon using various ingredients instead of the usual red bean or sesame.
From Nutella to Buldak Sauce, unique ingredients chosen by 5 per person
In the video, the members proceeded by checking five ingredients each to make their own unique Songpyeon. Many of the ingredients used broke away from the existing mold. The ingredients chosen by the members included chestnuts, cream cheese, pistachio spread, mozzarella cheese, strawberry jam, spicy sauce (Buldak Sauce), chocolate snacks, Nutella, and red bean. While shaping the Songpyeon, the members showed their dedication to the task, saying, "I'll shape it well, thinking of it as my own face."

During the process of making Songpyeon, various situations occurred depending on the characteristics of the ingredients. In the case of Songpyeon filled with strawberry jam, the internal ingredients overflowed or the sides of the rice cake burst. Also, during the process of making Songpyeon using spicy sauce, conversations between the members continued regarding the process of adding ingredients and the finished shape. The members participated in the production while feeling the texture of the rice cake, and some members joked in a free atmosphere, saying things like "I give up on making it pretty" or "It looks like an intestine."
"Unexpected combinations"... Members' taste evaluations such as the meeting of Bulda Sauce and red bean
During the process of tasting the completed Songpyeon, the members gave different evaluations for the combinations each had made. In particular, unexpected ingredient combinations drew attention. Regarding the combination of mixing red bean and Buldak Sauce, one member mentioned the harmony of spiciness and sweetness, saying, "It was unexpectedly delicious." Additionally, regarding the combination of mixing red bean and Budae-jjigae sauce, they showed a positive reaction, saying, "It's tastier than I thought."

The specific tasting evaluations from the members are as follows. One member stated, "Putting in pistachio was better than I thought," while another member evaluated, "It was a fundamental taste that made me understand why people make sesame Songpyeon." Regarding the Songpyeon filled with strawberry jam, the opinion came out that "it was delicious but dry because of the internal ingredients." For the Songpyeon filled with Nutella, reactions like "It was really delicious" continued, and for the Songpyeon filled with Buldak Sauce, conflicting evaluations coexisted, such as "It was hard because it was spicy, but unexpectedly delicious." In addition to this, comments such as "Pistachio was really good," "Chestnuts were also really delicious," and "Sesame Songpyeon was my favorite" continued.
"The basics are the most delicious" USPEER's Chuseok greetings
After finishing making the Songpyeon, the members expressed their feelings that this activity was a joyful memory of making Songpyeon together with the members for the first time. Based on the opinions expressed during the tasting process, the members shared joking advice such as "Sesame Songpyeon is the best" and "Leave out the cream cheese." The members conveyed their joyful feelings, saying, "We hope USPEER fans also have fun making Songpyeon during Chuseok."
Finally, the USPEER members concluded the video by sending greetings to the viewers, saying, "Have a happy Hangawi and may you all receive blessings."
