A video captures the process of the operator of the YouTube channel 'Country Mouse's City Life' exploring the Pangyo and Bundang areas to find a new monthly rental residence after completing a two-year stay in Gwanggyo.

"Seoul is too expensive"... The reason for turning eyes from Gwanggyo to southern Gyeonggi

The participant in the video revealed that although they recently purchased a house, it is a property without a mandatory residence requirement, meaning they must live in a monthly rental for the next few years. They explained that while their current residence, Gwanggyo, is a good place to live with well-equipped infrastructure and natural environments, there was significant inconvenience as the one-way commute for both themselves and their husband, who commutes to Seoul, takes about one hour.

Initially, they checked real estate apps to look for houses in Seoul, but decided that entering Seoul was difficult due to the high price levels. Accordingly, they decided to focus on checking properties centered around officetels in the Pangyo and Bundang areas of southern Gyeonggi, which are adjacent to Seoul and can shorten commuting distances. Considering the high monthly rent burden in Seoul, the participant explored options focused on officetels rather than apartments.

Exploring Pangyo New Town officetels and checking properties in the Bundang area

The participant first visited the Pangyo area to check the clean environment of the new town and its infrastructure, such as department stores and streams. Since the price range near Pangyo Station is similar to Seoul, they focused on looking at officetels in the inner areas rather than near the station. In the video, they are shown checking the interior of a two-bedroom officetel, inspecting facilities such as a pantry, air conditioner, and vanity, as well as the view outside the window.

They then moved to the Bundang area and explored the vicinity of Jeongja Station and Migeum Station. In the case of officetels near Jeongja Station, good accessibility to the station and a location leading to Tancheon were mentioned as advantages, but it was pointed out that the floor sizes are not suitable for raising a child as the layout is mainly composed of studio and 1.5-room types, and the inconvenience of using the parking lot was noted. The area near Migeum Station has developed commercial districts but feels more crowded compared to Jeongja Station, and features such as the presence of stairs when using the park were mentioned.

Decision-making through real estate study and future plans

The participant said that during the house purchasing process, they experienced differences in opinion while comparing real estate with their husband, but they were able to reduce their impatience through studying. In particular, they strove to select properties that could withstand a market downturn and mentioned the advantages gained by holding cash.

Currently, they have no confirmed residence, and there are difficulties in making an immediate contract due to a lack of properties or existing tenants extending their contracts. The participant stated they would share news as soon as their future residence is decided. Additionally, the video advised that while the process of checking real estate properties can be an interesting experience, viewers should watch for entertainment rather than following suit with actual purchases or contracts.
