Mega MGC Coffee reaches 4,500 stores in 10 years, franchise sales grow by 18%
Mega MGC Coffee has expanded its national network to 4,500 stores with the opening of the Miryang City Hall Branch in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do. Alongside rapid store expansion, the company has seen an 18% increase in average sales per store compared to three years ago.
Mega MGC Coffee has increased its number of stores nationwide to 4,500 by opening the 'Miryang City Hall Branch' in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do. The Miryang City Hall Branch, which opened on the 1st, is the 4,500th store symbolizing Mega MGC Coffee's national network.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials, including Kim Dae-young, Chairman of MGC Global, and Kim Il-han, the owner of the Miryang City Hall Branch. During the event, discussions were held regarding support measures for franchisees and future store operation directions.
Growth trend surpassing 4,000 stores in 10 years... Sales per store also increasing
Mega MGC Coffee, which began its franchise business by opening its first store near Hongdae in Seoul in 2015, has recorded steep growth. Following the milestone of surpassing 1,000 stores within five years of starting the business, it expanded its scale by securing 4,000 stores nationwide in 10 years. With the opening of this Miryang City Hall Branch, a nationwide system of 4,500 stores has been established.
Along with external growth, profitability indicators for franchise stores have also improved. According to the franchise business information disclosure from the Korea Fair Trade Commission, the average sales per store of Mega MGC Coffee have increased by approximately 18% compared to three years ago. The company explained that the franchise store closure rate is being maintained at the 1% level.
Strengthening franchise support systems through commercial area analysis and IP promotions
To increase the operational efficiency of franchise stores, Mega MGC Coffee has introduced a commercial area analysis system and has continuously carried out promotions utilizing new product development and external intellectual property (IP). In the future, the company plans to continue supporting operations based on collaboration with franchisees by expanding investments in marketing and research and development (R&D).
Kim Dae-young, Chairman of MGC Global, stated, "We will grow together by placing the highest priority on securing long-term profitability for franchisees and strengthening store competitiveness." Kim Il-han, the owner of the Miryang City Hall Branch, said, "I was able to open successfully thanks to the active support of the headquarters," and added, "I will make this a store that represents the region with the best taste and service."
