The result of losing 28kg through a month of fasting is cancer and yo-yo effect... Warnings issued regarding side effects of obesity injections
A warning has been issued that extreme dieting, which forcibly suppresses appetite, can collapse the human body's survival system, leading to binge eating disorders and inflammation. The case of a woman who lost 28kg through extreme fasting and subsequently faced breast cancer and vascular diseases highlights the dangers of rapid weight loss and the side effects of obesity injection treatments.

A warning has emerged that extreme dieting, which forcibly suppresses appetite, goes beyond the simple matter of enduring hunger and can collapse the human body's survival system. Strongly suppressed appetite makes it easy to lose control and lead to binge eating disorders, and the stress hormone cortisol secreted during this process becomes a factor that induces inflammation in the body.
Breast cancer and vascular diseases that arrived after losing 28kg
In a video reported by TV CHOSUN LIFE, the case of Chae-young, a woman in her 50s who lost 28kg through extreme fasting for one month, was introduced. Chae-young reduced her weight by drinking only water for one week during the month, and then enduring with only apples and water the following week. Although she succeeded in rapid weight loss, the price was harsh. Chae-young experienced extreme loss of energy and decreased immunity, and subsequently received a breast cancer diagnosis, requiring a total mastectomy of her left breast. Regarding the cause of the cancer, experts explained that long periods of extreme fasting and chronic stress can lower the body's defense capabilities, making it vulnerable to diseases, including cancer.

Life after the diet was not smooth either. Due to binge eating habits that arrived after breast cancer treatment, her weight swelled back up to 80kg. In this process, vascular disease issues were also accompanied, such as a rapid increase in glycated hemoglobin levels. Chae-young stated that she is experiencing difficulties in health management while taking medication for diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
The light and shadow of obesity injection treatments, from indigestion to hair loss
Concerns regarding the side effects of recently popular obesity injection treatments were also raised. At the recommendation of an acquaintance, Chae-young administered an obesity injection treatment but experienced symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and constipation. As soon as she stopped using the medication, her appetite returned, and a yo-yo effect occurred where the weight she had lost increased again.

Obesity injection treatments work on the principle of maintaining satiety by slowing down the movement speed of the stomach, causing food to stay in the stomach longer. However, in this process, because food cannot descend in time, gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, burping, and acid reflux occur frequently. In severe cases, food can stagnate in the stomach, leading to instances where an endoscopy cannot be properly performed because food remains in the stomach.
Physical changes due to nutritional imbalance are also serious. When appetite is suppressed by medication, the intake of essential nutrients such as protein, zinc, and iron decreases, which can weaken hair roots and cause hair loss. Additionally, severe muscle loss can occur, to the extent that about 40% of the lost weight is muscle, and dangerous side effects such as acute pancreatitis, gallstones, and cholecystitis have been reported. Artificial suppression of appetite is highly likely to cause a yo-yo effect, where one returns to a higher overweight state than before due to binge eating after stopping the medication.
