During the November 2, 2024, broadcast of JTBC's 'Love War', Seo Jang-hoon warned a male participant that he could die after his liver enzyme levels reached 350, ten times the normal range. The man, who has been drinking since high school, reported returning to alcohol consumption just two to three days after being discharged from the hospital.

The health of a participant is being threatened by repeated drinking even while undergoing treatment for fatty liver. In the November 2, 2024, broadcast of JTBC's 'Love War', the health status of a male participant who has been drinking since his first year of high school was revealed, along with a warning from Seo Jang-hoon.

Liver enzymes exceed normal levels tenfold as drinking continues

The participant revealed that when drinking at home, he consumes alcohol in PET bottle quantities, sometimes consuming the equivalent of four PET bottles at once. His health status is a matter of deep concern; he mentioned experiencing physical abnormalities, including poor pancreatic and liver health and the formation of pus near his anus.

The most serious issue is his liver enzyme levels. While normal liver enzyme levels typically range between 30 and 50, this participant's levels soared to 350, exceeding the normal range by approximately ten times. When his physical condition deteriorates due to drinking, he visits the emergency room to receive intravenous fluids and inpatient treatment. Once his levels return to the normal range after treatment, he begins drinking again in an endless cycle. He reported drinking again just two to three days after being discharged, a process that causes his levels to spike sharply once more.

Watching this, Seo Jang-hoon strongly criticized him, stating, "The human liver cannot endure like that indefinitely." He issued a grave warning regarding his health, specifically targeting the behavior of drinking every day even while undergoing treatment, saying, "You're going to die."

Obsession born from affection deficiency: "I can only stay by their side if they are sick"

Meanwhile, the behavior of a participant with an obsessive view of romance was also captured. Participant So-hee showed dualistic behavior, such as taking extreme actions to hold onto a partner or changing her tone and manner of speech only in specific situations. The cast members reacted that such behavior was frightening, reminiscent of the movie 'Misery'.

The cast analyzed the psychological mechanism behind this obsession. They analyzed that the reason So-hee acts excessively through drinking sessions or specific situations is that she does not receive attention normally. In particular, it was interpreted that she fears losing her justification to stay by her partner Min-uk's side if he becomes healthy and stops drinking; thus, she uses the logic that she can only stay by his side if he is sick and bedridden so that she can help him.
