Actor Noh Jae-won has shared his inner thoughts and the meaning behind his upcoming work. In a video released by noon company, Noh expressed his sincerity regarding the solo play 'Every Brilliant Thing' while traveling to practice for the production.
The weight of a solo play completed with the audience
Noh Jae-won is currently focusing on his rehearsals, memorizing lines ahead of the performance. While 'Every Brilliant Thing' takes the form of a solo play, it also possesses the characteristics of a multi-person play that is completed through interaction with the audience. Noh explained the nature of a stage created together with the audience, noting that the color of the performance can change depending on which audience members he meets.

An invited run-through conducted during the rehearsal process provided him with new stimulation. He added that practicing amidst new audiences and atmospheres each time brought both intense tension and enjoyment, admitting that he sometimes feels scared before meeting the audience. In particular, his confession that it is difficult when moments arise where one might judge the audience or himself demonstrates his serious attitude toward the stage.
"I will show my true self"... A journey to find the colors of life
The work tells the story of a character who began writing lists following an incident involving their mother when they were around seven years old. The process of unfolding the life trajectory and the stories contained in those lists, which have continued since childhood, holds special meaning for Noh Jae-won personally. He stated that while preparing for this performance, he is learning new things from his own life and is deeply contemplating how to create a performance that only he can deliver.
Noh Jae-won plans to show his unadorned self through this performance. He recommended the work to those who experience difficulty finding happiness while feeling sadness, anger, or disappointment in themselves during the course of life. "For those whose lives were originally in color but feel black and white lately, I truly hope you watch this performance," he said, a statement reflecting his will to share an emotional connection with the audience through the stage.
