Baek Ji-young's daughter Ha-im forms girl group 'KICKBACK'
Baek Ji-young's daughter, Ha-im, has formed a girl group called 'KICKBACK' with her friends. Her bold move of offering her entire savings of 10 million won as the fee for the song, along with the 20-year friendship between Baek Ji-young and Lyn, is becoming a hot topic.
Ha-im, the daughter of singers Baek Ziyoung and Jung Suk-won, has shown a remarkable presence by forming a girl group with her friends. In a video recently released on Baek Ziyoung's YouTube channel, Ha-im formed a group named 'KICKBACK' with her friends. The members consist of 'Vicky' (Ha-im's nickname), 'Becky', 'Kiki', and 'Lina', who takes on the role of the manager.
Ha-im directly requested her mother, Baek Ziyoung, to write a song for her, boldly suggesting, "Would ten million won be enough?" as payment. Ha-im even set a specific deadline, saying, "Please make it before I become a fifth grader." In response, Jung Suk-won explained that Ha-im's entire fortune, accumulated from New Year's money and allowances since birth, is about ten million won. Jung added a comment on the changing allowance culture of the current generation, saying, "In our time, we received thousand-won bills, but kids these days receive fifty-thousand-won bills."
"No talent for singing" Baek Ziyoung's honest evaluation and surprising dance skills
Baek Ziyoung left an unfiltered evaluation of her daughter's talent. Appearing on SBS's 'My Little Old Boy', Baek Ziyoung mentioned that despite being the daughter of South Korea's representative ballad singer, "my daughter has absolutely no talent for singing." However, her dancing skills were different. Ha-im showed excellent dance abilities while learning the choreography for aespa's 'Whiplash'. Jung Suk-won reacted playfully to this, saying, "Ha-im is teaching her mother."
Baek Ziyoung also showed her "cool mom" side in her daily life. In a video of a delicious restaurant outing with Jung Suk-won, Ha-im, and her friend, Baek Ziyoung showed affection for her daughter's appetite. She alternated between being a strict parent, telling her daughter, "Jung Ha-im, don't watch TV," while she was focused on the TV during the meal, and being a caring mother, encouraging her to eat by saying, "You should gain weight today. Don't think about dieting and just eat."
The touching friendship between 20-year friends Baek Ziyoung and Lyn
Meanwhile, singer Lyn showcased her deep friendship with her best friend of 20 years, Baek Ziyoung, through SBS's 'My Little Old Boy'. Lyn revealed that after deciding to get a divorce, she shared her struggles with acquaintances and first announced the divorce in a gathering with Baek Ziyoung, Yoon Jong-shin, Kim Bum-soo, and others. Lyn confessed that Baek Ziyoung was the person she wanted to tell the news to first.
Baek Ziyoung expressed her emotions while recalling how she felt when she heard the story from her close younger friend, Lyn. The two also showed delightful chemistry while conversing about 'Jel-kku' (decorating jelly shoes), a trend popular among the MZ generation. It drew laughter as Baek Ziyoung initially seemed indifferent to the trends introduced by Lyn, only to quickly become interested.
