Sandara Park Reveals Anecdote of Male Singer Visiting Her Dorm in Early Debut Days
Sandara Park, formerly of the group 2NE1, shared an episode about a male singer who once came all the way to her dormitory to meet her during her early debut days.
In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Jipdaeseong' on the 3rd, Sandara Park appeared alongside Gong Minji, Se7en, and Daesung to share memories from her time at YG Entertainment. Sandara Park led the atmosphere by sharing anecdotes that showcased her popularity at the time.
While drawing a line by stating, "I never actually met anyone after receiving contact," Sandara Park surprised everyone by revealing, "There was once a singer who came to the front of my first dormitory to see me."
Floods of Proposals and the Reason for Phone Confiscation Early in Her Debut
At the time, Sandara Park's popularity was unrivaled even within the entertainment industry. When Daesung asked if she had any past "flings," Sandara Park waved him off, saying, "Who would I have? I'd need someone to meet in the first place." Regarding the subsequent question about marriage proposals, she replied, "There were many," hinting at her glamorous days back then.
Her experience of having her phone confiscated during her trainee days was also mentioned. Sandara Park explained, "Early in my debut, I started getting contacted by other companies, so (my phone) was taken away," revealing that the agency took measures to manage the influx of contact.
YG's 'Top 3 Social Clubs' and Dormitory Life Behind-the-Scenes
Sandara Park recalled the situation when 2NE1 and BIGBANG lived in the same building. She explained the specific background of why her phone was confiscated, saying, "At that time, 2NE1 and BIGBANG lived in the same building, and someone mischievous reported it to the CEO."
She then mentioned the so-called 'Top 3 Social Clubs' within YG. According to Sandara Park, the core information hubs of YG were Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy, and G-Dragon. In response, Daesung called them 'YG's Cultwo Show,' and Se7en added to the fun by giving them the nickname 'Ji-dong-ari' (G-Dragon's club), including G-Dragon.
Differences in Management Styles Between Agencies
The cast members also discussed the atmosphere of their former agencies. When Sandara Park praised the visuals of SM Entertainment, Se7en referred to SM as a "flings heaven." Daesung noted the difference in management styles, saying, "I heard SM told them to meet inside the building if they were going to meet. I think it's because it's easier to manage."
