TWICE Sana to star in a movie with Japanese actor Takeru Satoh

Takeru Satoh and TWICE's Sana Selected as Leads for Korea-Japan Co-produced Romance Fantasy

Sana, a member of the group TWICE, will meet Japanese top actor Takeru Satoh on the big screen. Korean production companies Coke and NPIO, along with Japanese production company JACON, announced that they have cast Takeru Satoh and TWICE's Sana as the male and female leads for the film 'Nyang-i: Reaching Your World' (working title).

This project is a romance fantasy film centered around cats. Takeru Satoh will lead the story as the male protagonist, 'Tamaki.' He is an actor who has proven his unrivaled acting skills in works such as 'Rurouni Kenshin,' the Netflix original series 'Glass Heart,' and the drama 'First Love.' In this project, he is expected to portray a multi-dimensional character.

Sana will make her film debut through this movie. She will play the female protagonist, 'Nao,' bringing her signature pure and lovely charm to the screen. Industry attention is focused on Sana's new challenge as an actress, moving beyond her idol activities.

The production crew is also impressive, ensuring high quality for the film. Director Kwon Hyuk-chan, who has been recognized for his sensible directing through dramas like 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God' and 'Encounter,' will take the helm. The screenplay will be handled by director Nam Dae-jung, who wrote the films '30 Days' and 'First Ride,' as well as the drama 'Manager Kim,' promising a solid narrative.

The production system will follow a Korea-Japan co-production model. Korea's Coke has previously produced the Japanese film 'SEE HEAR LOVE,' and NPIO is a production company that has produced major hits such as 'The Red Sleeve,' 'King the Land,' and 'Jeongnyeon.' With Japan's JACON joining, the collaboration between the production crews of both countries has begun in earnest.

The film 'Nyang-i: Reaching Your World' (working title) is currently in the final stages of casting. Once all preparations are complete, full-scale filming is planned to begin in Japan this fall.
