Rescene takes first place on Inkigayo as 'LOVE ATTACK' climbs the charts

Girl group Rescene has reached the top of a major terrestrial music program. On the 1319th episode of SBS 'Inkigayo' aired on the 26th, Rescene clinched the first-place trophy with 'LOVE ATTACK.' This achievement comes after surpassing nominees such as I.O.I's 'Suddenly' and Aespa's 'Lemonade.'

Having debuted on March 26, 2024, Rescene spent two years leading up to this first-place win. The group's public recognition surged following the success of gyaru-style and dialect-themed content featured on member Woni's personal YouTube channel, 'Hello, I'm Woni, Please Treat Me Well.' This momentum triggered a "chart reversal" phenomenon, where previous releases including 'Deja Vu,' 'Run Away,' and 'Pinball,' as well as 'LOVE ATTACK,' began to resurface in the rankings.

Achieving a Terrestrial No. 1 with 'LOVE ATTACK'

Rescene also recently reached the top of music programs with their special single 'Pretty Girl.' Following their first win since debut with 'Pretty Girl' on SBS Life's 'The Show' on the 14th, they recorded their first terrestrial win on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 25th. This win on 'Inkigayo' marks their first achievement with the song 'LOVE ATTACK' approximately two years after the release of their first mini-album 'SCENEDROME.'

The winner of 'Inkigayo' was determined by combining digital music scores (50%), SNS (20%), physical albums (10%), on-air scores (10%), pre-voting (5%), and real-time voting (5%). Rescene earned a total of 5,486 points, outpacing runner-up I.O.I (4,626 points) and third-place Aespa (4,452 points). On stage, instead of their recent promotional track 'Pretty Girl,' they performed 'LOVE ATTACK,' the driver behind their recent chart resurgence.

Members Express Gratitude Through Tears

Immediately after the first-place announcement, the members of Rescene were moved to tears. Leader Woni stated, "I am truly grateful to Remind, our fandom, and to the public for making it so that we are not just dreaming a dream, but actually achieving it." The members expressed their gratitude by mentioning the names of their agency CEO and staff, hair and makeup artists, dance and vocal instructors, and the team at Solfa Studio, their YouTube production company.

Kang Hyeju expressed her thanks to the agency staff, while LIV greeted the fandom 'Remind.' ZENA also showed her affection for the fans. Minami, a Japanese member, addressed her parents in both Korean and Japanese.
