DK and Seungkwan sell out all 12 performances across five cities
Seventeen's vocal unit tour featuring DK and Seungkwan has successfully concluded, selling out all 12 shows across five cities and drawing a cumulative audience of 130,000.
DK and Seungkwan, the vocal unit of the group Seventeen, have successfully concluded their live tour, meeting fans across five cities worldwide. From July 24 to 26, they held 'DxS [SERENADE] ON STAGE - KAOHSIUNG' at the Kaohsiung Arena in Taiwan, welcoming approximately 31,000 spectators.
Originally scheduled for a single day, the Kaohsiung performance saw an additional show added after tickets sold out immediately upon release. The added show also sold out completely, proving their immense ticket power. Following the Kaohsiung stop, the five-city tour—which began in Incheon last April and continued through Chiba, Daegu, and Macau—concluded with a remarkable achievement: all 12 performances were sold out, drawing a cumulative online and offline audience of over 130,000.
Three hours of vocal mastery: A diverse setlist featuring the unreleased track 'Exhaustion'
This tour maximized the charm of a "listening concert," focusing on the duo's vocal prowess rather than flashy performances. DK and Seungkwan surprised fans by performing tracks from their first mini-album 'Serenade' released last January, as well as the unreleased song 'Exhaustion,' prepared specifically for this concert. The three-hour live set remained seamless, incorporating Seventeen group songs, vocal unit tracks, and their respective solo songs.
The talk segments interspersed throughout the concert were uniquely structured for each show. The duo shared behind-the-scenes stories related to their music and connected with fans by performing live versions of their OSTs and cover songs. Their meticulous preparation was evident, as they varied the setlists for every performance to ensure fans had a fresh experience each time.
The power of 'Serenade,' a 'half-million seller,' and gratitude toward fans
The vocal capabilities of DK and Seungkwan have already been proven on album and digital music charts. Their first mini-album, 'Serenade,' released last January, garnered significant attention by achieving half-million seller status on its release day. It swept the top spots on Japan's Oricon Daily Album Chart and China's QQ Music Digital Bestseller Album EP category, and even achieved the feat of entering the US Billboard 200 chart. Despite being a ballad, the title track 'Blue' topped major domestic music charts and proved its global popularity by reaching number one on Spotify's 'Daily Viral Songs' in major Asian regions.
At the Kaohsiung concert, which marked the grand finale of the tour, the two expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the fandom 'CARAT.' DK and Seungkwan shared their reflections, saying, "Seeing you all happy and smiling brightly makes us happy as well. Thanks to the love of CARAT, we were able to complete this tour safely." They added, "All the other members of Seventeen are also spending time growing further for the team. Please continue to support us and look forward to the even more amazing Seventeen that will return."
