KARD ends 9-year journey with DSP Media

Co-ed group KARD is concluding its nine-year journey with agency DSP Media. On the 28th at 6 PM, KARD released their first full-length album, 'Where To Now? (Part.2) : NOWHERE'.

This album continues the narrative established in their 7th mini-album, 'Where To Now? (Part.1 : Yellow Light)', released last August. It depicts the process of moving through the aimless wandering of 'NOWHERE' to finally realizing that 'HERE' is the ultimate destination. The Moombahton sound, which has defined KARD's identity from their debut track 'Oh NaNa' through 'Hola Hola', 'Bomb Bomb', 'RED MOON', and 'Ring The Alarm', remains the centerpiece of this new release.

Title track 'Back To Life' features lyrics by all members

The title track, 'Back To Life', reinterprets tropical sounds into a Moombahton-based dancehall genre. It creates dynamic energy through the interplay of upbeat synthesizer sounds, heavy bass, and woodwind elements. Member BM took charge of the composition, while all members participated in writing the lyrics.

The lyrics directly convey messages to their fans, including lines such as "I'll protect you in the deep of this night," "I'll go anywhere with you," and "I promise to always be on your side." It captures the sentiment of becoming a sanctuary for one another, much like a refreshing oasis found in the pitch-black darkness.

Full-length album consisting of 10 tracks, including solo songs

The album consists of a total of 10 tracks, including the instrumental version of the title track. It features 'Armor', which expresses the determination to not lose oneself amidst external scrutiny and anxiety; 'At Least', which sings of the lingering echoes of a breakup; 'Signal', which captures the feeling of being drawn to someone's signal; and 'Always', a song conveying gratitude and promises to their fans.

Solo tracks showcasing the members' individual talents are also included. 'Move (BM Solo)', 'EASY (J.seph Solo)', 'Backseat (Jeon So-min Solo)', and 'Home Sweet Home (Jeon Ji-woo Solo)' round out the full-length album. The vocals of Jeon So-min, the unique tone of Jeon Ji-woo, and the rap performances of BM and J.seph harmonize across the tracks.

Omnibus narrative in the music video and world tour schedule

The accompanying music video visualizes the album's narrative. It uses an omnibus format to depict the four members (BM, J.seph, Jeon So-min, and Jeon Ji-woo) wandering in their respective spaces before meeting in a single location to begin a new journey.

Having been active since their official debut in 2017, KARD has agreed to pursue their own paths for the time being following the promotions for this album. Following these activities, KARD will embark on a full-scale world tour starting August 8.
