Yoo Se-yoon Challenges Psy's Summer Swag with a 60-Seat Rooftop Pool Party

Singer and comedian Yoo Se-yoon is set to host a unique concert targeting Psy's signature summer event, 'Summer Swag.' Yoo recently announced via his social media that he will hold the 'Yoo Se-yoon Concert Water Heumbbeok Rooftop Pool Party' on August 16 at 4 PM on a rooftop in Guro-gu, Seoul. Expressing his confidence, he noted, "Expect a scale about 1/1000th of Summer Swag."

The venue is an unconventional urban rooftop. The stage will be set on the rooftop of the Hanseong Shopping Center, a space featuring a mix of chili, tomato, and lettuce patches alongside traditional Korean earthenware jars (jangdokdae). Yoo described the location as "a space offering a unique landscape and leisure rarely found in the city." The stage will feature quirky props, including kiddie pools and large rubber basins.

The concert will be limited to 60 attendees. Rather than a massive stadium, it is designed as a small-scale pool party where the artist and audience can interact closely. While preparing a top-tier sound system, Yoo will implement a flexible seating system that allows for both standing and seated arrangements. This will enable the free placement of various stage elements, including the kiddie pools.

Ticket reservations will open on July 29 at 12 PM. Bookings will be handled via a Google Form attached to a post on the YouTube channel 'Yoo Se-yoon's Interlude Jump.' Given the limited seating, competition for tickets is expected to be intense. Due to the water-based nature of the show, bringing a change of clothes is essential, and attendees have been warned that water supply issues may occur depending on on-site conditions.

The promotional poster released captures Yoo's signature "B-grade" humor. In the poster, Yoo appears as a bodybuilder with exaggerated chest, shoulder, and arm muscles created through CG and Photoshop. Fans reacted by saying, "I thought he actually bulked up for a second," and "Classic Yoo Se-yoon promotion."

Safety rules for the venue have also been announced. Eating the vegetables or fruits from the rooftop garden is strictly prohibited. While personal water guns are allowed, spraying water at electronic devices, sound equipment, Yoo's face, or vital areas is strictly forbidden. Yoo expressed his hope that the concert will be a party where people can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the rooftop space.

However, some have raised safety concerns due to the nature of the rooftop location. Some users suggested that the structural integrity regarding the weight of the water, the floor load capacity, and the waterproofing status of the rooftop need to be verified. Since the event is held on an urban rooftop, potential complaints from nearby residents could also be a variable. Yoo has previously met fans through karaoke-style performances, and this rooftop stage is an extension of that concept.
