Yoon Jong-shin reinterprets 'Wonder Woman' with singer-songwriter Minsu
Yoon Jong-shin has released a new version of "Wonder Woman," a collaboration with singer-songwriter Minsu. The track is the result of a Repair process that respects the artist's unique individuality.
Yoon Jong-shin has unveiled new music capturing the wonder of love, collaborating with singer-songwriter Minsu. Titled "Wonder Woman" and released through the July 2026 issue of 'Monthly Yoon Jong-shin Repair,' the track uses Yoon's signature everyday language to explore the transformation that occurs when falling in love and how it shifts one's perspective on life.
A fresh sensibility infused with Minsu's signature style
This project followed a departure from the usual production process. After discovering Minsu's music through recommendations last year, Yoon Jong-shin was drawn to his free-spirited musicality and proposed this collaboration. While previous 'Repair' projects typically involved selecting a song first and then recruiting an artist, this time the process began by selecting Minsu as the artist and then finding a song that suited him. This decision was made because the original track, which served as the OST for the film 'Do You Like Bears in Spring?', was deemed to resonate deeply with Minsu's musical worldview.
Minsu stated that writing and performing this song felt as natural as wearing his own clothes. The lyrics and melody felt so much like his own story that the newly arranged version felt like his original work. This level of immersion was made possible by the deep trust of the original artist, Yoon Jong-shin. During this process, Yoon minimized his directing to ensure that Minsu's intended direction could be fully expressed in the song.
The charm of creative blending across generations
Yoon Jong-shin defined the core of this Repair project as 'intergenerational harmony.' He sought to capture the creative energy generated when musicians from different generations meet and blend their unique colors. Rather than insisting on his own vision, he prioritized the interpretation of Minsu—a singer-songwriter with strong arranging skills—empowering the artist to maximize his unique style.
According to Yoon, the true allure of the 'Repair' project lies in observing how artists from different generations and backgrounds digest the same song and how the expression changes based on their approach. He plans to continue such projects, looking forward to the musical evolution that occurs when stepping away from the original artist's perspective to encounter a fresh interpretation.
