xikers' MINJAE, SUMIN, and YECHAN reveal 'JUST FOR FUN' music video filming behind-the-scenes and lyrical inspiration

Members MINJAE, SUMIN, and YECHAN of the group xikers shared the music video filming process and the behind-the-scenes stories contained in their new song 'JUST FOR FUN'. In a live video released on the 17th, the members directly revealed the concept of the new song and the difficulties faced during filming.

"Jumping for 6 hours," a record of high-intensity location filming

The members explained that this 'JUST FOR FUN' music video shows a distinctly different atmosphere compared to their previous activity, 'Delulu'. In particular, they stated that this filming was primarily outdoors, scouting various locations instead of using a set. MINJAE mentioned the scene of jumping on a bed during filming, conveying the difficulties at the time by saying, "It was really hard because of the bed. I had to keep jumping from 5 o'clock, just like jumping on a trampoline." SUMIN also added, "Filming proceeded for 1.5 days, with one day being a full day and another being a half-day," and "The weather was humid, so I sweated a lot."

The theme of 'playfulness' that started from a Jim Carrey Reels

A detailed explanation also followed regarding the inspiration for 'JUST FOR FUN', which is both the title and the core theme of the song. According to the members, the idea for this song started from a famous Reels video featuring comedian Jim Carrey. MINJAE said, "It started from a Reels where Jim Carrey is playing around. I got hooked on the phrase 'Just for fun' and really wanted to include this playful feeling."

The composition of the song also saw the members participating by dividing roles to complete this theme of 'playfulness'. MINJAE explained that he added a pre-chorus for the playful atmosphere, while SUMIN revealed he took the lyric "I can be a dog," and YECHAN stated he took the lyric "I can't fly, but I can fly at high altitudes," thereby completing the song's structure.

The time gap between the song and the music video, and a new challenge

The members also mentioned the time gap between the song release and the music video release. Unlike their previous activity 'Delulu', the song was released relatively late this time, and they explained that there was a process of urgently modifying the song during production. The members shared their thoughts, saying, "For this music video, there was a direction to look cool, but we prepared in a challenging direction to show ourselves being fun," and "Since the reaction is good, I think we will know what kind of direction people prefer more in the future."
