HUI and Sung Han-bin discuss their friendship on TEO content
HUI and Sung Han-bin appeared on the TEO content 'John Park Buys Dinner' to discuss their friendship that began during the survival program 'Boys Planet'.
HUI and Sung Han-bin appeared on the TEO program 'John Park Buys Dinner' to discuss their bond formed during the 'Boys Planet' training camp. While HUI revealed he has avoided salt since Thursday to manage his body fat following a PENTAGON concert, Sung Han-bin noted that the most difficult part of his audition process was not being able to find Zero Coke.
A special bond between two artists that transcends an eight-year age difference has been revealed. In the TEO content 'John Park Buys Dinner', HUI and Sung Han-bin appeared in a practice room to share deep stories and discuss the connection they have maintained since their time on the survival program 'Boys Planet'.
A connection started on a snowy day, "Congratulations came before jealousy"
The meeting between the two dates back to the training camp days of 'Boys Planet'. HUI recalled meeting Sung Han-bin for the first time at the training center on a day when it was snowing. As a senior artist who had already debuted at the time, HUI naturally grew close to Sung Han-bin while living together in the camp. Despite the eight-year age gap, the two maintain a close relationship, calling each other "true friends."
Explaining his relationship with Sung Han-bin, HUI spoke candidly about his feelings at the time. "A person's life can change completely in six months, and looking at Han-bin, I could really feel that happening," HUI said. "Even in situations where I might have felt jealous if I were younger, I didn't feel any jealousy at all; instead, I felt a sincere desire to congratulate him." Sung Han-bin also expressed trust in HUI as a veteran senior with whom he could share musical concerns, stating, "I felt like he was a mentor above my head." Sung Han-bin added that because HUI approached him first, he was able to ask musical questions comfortably, and noted that he liked HUI's more free-spirited side.
Diet management and stage euphoria: the other side of artists
HUI, who recently completed the PENTAGON 10th anniversary concert, and Sung Han-bin, who is focusing on practice, shared their lifestyle patterns as artists. In particular, HUI revealed that he is continuing strict diet management for muscle definition following his concert. "I haven't eaten any salt from Thursday until now," he said, explaining his chicken breast-centered diet and body fat management process. His appearance seeking Yukgaejang Samyang Ramen to satisfy his hunger immediately after the concert showed a human side.
Regarding their attitude toward the stage, both cited "thorough preparation" as a common denominator. Sung Han-bin said, "I am the type who feels anxious if I don't prepare," while HUI added that although he prepares a lot, "it's no fun if you only do exactly what you prepared on stage," noting that he enjoys the spontaneity and energy that comes from being in a prepared state. Both positively evaluated the grit unique to survival programs and the euphoria felt on stage. Sung Han-bin explained that he personally likes participating in survival programs, noting he enjoys the grit of pouring everything in, the energy that comes from within the stage, and the sense of relief when it is over.
The hardest memory of survival was Zero Coke
When asked about the hardships during the survival program, Sung Han-bin gave an unexpected answer. He cited "not being able to drink Zero Coke" as the most difficult part of the audition process. He mentioned that due to the survival environment at the time, it was difficult to find Zero Coke at convenience stores, drawing laughter by revealing his preference for the drink. Meanwhile, the two satisfied their hunger in the practice room by ordering protein-focused menus such as beef tartare and sushi.
