Kim Ji-yeon's philosophy on human relationships: "I search for the loveliness in others until the very end"

Actress Kim Ji-yeon revealed her unique way of dealing with people who do not suit her and her attitude toward understanding others. Kim Ji-yeon and Park Seo-ham, the leads of the drama 'Dive into You' which will be released on Disney+ and Channel A on September 26, appeared on the YouTube channel 'Ha Ji-young' to talk about their respective interpersonal strategies.

"Maintaining professional politeness"... Kim Ji-yeon's way of keeping distance

In the video, Kim Ji-yeon was asked how she deals with types of people who do not suit her when working on set. Kim Ji-yeon explained that the actions of others do not tend to come as a major blow or wound to her. Regarding the actions of people she is not close to, she added, "I am the style of just saying, 'Okay, you do that, and I will do this.'"

Kim Ji-yeon revealed that in this process, rather than unconditionally clashing, she utilizes 'professional politeness.' She said she tends to be very polite to maintain boundaries with others and keeps her distance by not sharing personal stories. In particular, she mentioned that if the other person tries to become excessively close, she responds by not answering well.

"Searching until the very end, even to death"... Efforts to understand others

Kim Ji-yeon also mentioned her attitude toward understanding others. She said that to find the lovely parts in someone, she "searches until the very end, even to death." The intention is that she does not give up and tries to discover the positive aspects of the other person.

This attitude leads to fundamental questions about why the other person acts that way. Kim Ji-yeon explained that to understand why someone became that way, she looks for the traces of how that person has lived, or asks questions like "How did you live?" or "So how is it?" to try to understand their life. Quoting stories she heard from adults during her trainee days, she mentioned that when dealing with people who cause stress, she sometimes feels pity for them.

"Trying to get close to work"... Park Seo-ham's strategy

In contrast to Kim Ji-yeon, Park Seo-ham showed a different view on how to form relationships on set. Park Seo-ham revealed that if he is in a situation where he has to work with someone for a long time, he tends to try to get close to them first. He explained that this is a choice made so that he can work comfortably. He said that even if he does not like the person, he tries his best once or twice because he himself might feel more uncomfortable and find it harder during the working process. However, he also expressed the stance that if the relationship does not improve despite these efforts, he will turn away.

Meanwhile, the drama 'Dive into You' in which the two appear is a first-love rescue romance based on the setting that one can return to the past with an old camcorder. Kim Ji-yeon plays the role of top actress 'Yoon Ha-na', and Park Seo-ham plays the role of first love 'Jung Woo-jae', working together.
