The group BOYNEXTDOOR released a video capturing the process of producing a music video using their song 'Dear My Darling' in celebration of Chuseok. This video contains the process of the members directly composing the scenario, dividing roles, and filming a music video in a drama format set in the Joseon era.

Constructing a Four-Way Romance Scenario Reinterpreting Past Life Characters

In the video, the members built a story by bringing back the characters they previously showcased in their 'Past Life Experience' content. Set in a village in Joseon, the story is set in a situation where the protagonist 'Yong-ho' and the villagers are living peacefully, but face opposition from a loved one due to differences in social status. The members set up a four-way romance structure including a tragic ending, saying, "Let's not let them be together. That's more fun." In particular, the core of the story is the relationship between the protagonist Yong-ho and her, and the conflict between 'Dr. Byeol' and 'Yun-yeong'. The members added dramatic fun by expanding the relationships established from the beginning into a four-way romance.

The specific scenario included various settings. A setting where a 'tiger' character appears to increase the tension of the play stands out. To create scenes that connect with the song lyrics, they placed a scene where a tiger suddenly attacks following the affectionate appearance of Yong-ho and Suk. In the video, specific developments such as characters dying due to the tiger's sudden attack or dying of a heart attack from being startled were also discussed. Additionally, they constructed a dramatic flow including a scene where Yong-ho gives flowers but is rejected and strikes the ground in anger, a scene where Yong-ho expresses sadness by playing the janggu, and a setting where he discovers a flyer while playing the janggu.

Role Distribution and Episodes from the Filming Site

After the scenario was finalized, the members proceeded with filming by dividing their respective roles such as director, producer, art director, and actor. In the video, scenes follow where the members introduce their assigned characters. Members appearing include one taking the role of a dating counselor and the tiger, one taking the role of the director and a fish shop owner, and one taking the role of the ill-fated male protagonist Yong-ho. On the filming site, the video captures them leading the entire production process with conversations like "This is a documentary" being exchanged.

Comic situations were produced during the filming process. In the affection scene between Yong-ho and Suk, they were captured immersing themselves in acting while exchanging lines such as "Why do you keep staring at me? I am embarrassed." The member playing the tiger appeared with a "Roar" sound to act the character and filmed a scene where the character collapses from the tiger's attack. Furthermore, they attempted direction that combines modern elements with a period drama, such as preparing 'artificial tears' to produce a scene of shedding tears or a scene of being lost in memories while looking at photos on a smartphone.
