From Dramas to K-Pop… CJ ENM Targets US FAST Market with Library IP
CJ ENM is expanding into the United States market by launching two FAST channels, 'CJ ENM K-Stories' and 'CJ ENM K-Pop', in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video. These channels will offer a wide range of content, including dramas, movies, and K-pop, to viewers for free with advertisements.
CJ ENM is set to target the United States market by launching two advertising-based free streaming TV (FAST) channels in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video.
CJ ENM announced that it has launched the 'CJ ENM K-Stories' and 'CJ ENM K-Pop' channels within Amazon Prime Video. The two channels will operate 24 hours a day, allowing viewers to enjoy content on the condition that they watch advertisements without any separate subscription fees. The lineup for each channel is scheduled to be updated monthly.
From Dramas and Movies to K-Pop FanCams… Utilizing Diverse Libraries
The 'CJ ENM K-Stories' channel will be programmed around major drama and movie content owned by CJ ENM. In the first month of launching, hits such as the dramas 'The K2', 'Her Private Life', and 'Tale of the Nine Tailed', as well as movies like 'Veteran' and 'EXIT', will be placed.
The 'CJ ENM K-Pop' channel will provide content centered on music and performances. It plans to target global music fans through the 'FanCam' series produced by CJ ENM's digital music studio M2 and various K-pop music programs.
Maximizing IP Value… Aiming to Expand Touchpoints with Global Viewers
The opening of these channels aims to increase the utilization of the vast library IP (intellectual property) held by CJ ENM. The strategy is to recreate the value of the content by exposing library content and hidden masterpieces, which were difficult to access on existing streaming platforms, through a new distribution route called FAST.
Kim Do-hyun, head of CJ ENM's Content Distribution BU, explained, "Through cooperation with Amazon Prime Video, we are now able to present CJ ENM's diverse stories to viewers across the United States." He added, "Through FAST channels, viewers will be able to conveniently enjoy popular drama, movie, and music content without the burden of cost. We will continue to pursue various collaborations to expand our touchpoints with K-content fans around the world."
