Choreographer SHIMIZU presented a performance that visualized giant wings using umbrellas. The video is content from 〈Last Stage: 24H〉 released through the YouTube channel 'The CHOOM', as part of a program dealing with the works of choreographers.

Giant wings and visual contrast implemented with umbrellas

In the video, SHIMIZU mentioned 'wings' and 'fallen angel' as the core themes of this stage. To realize the image that came to mind since the music was first created, umbrellas were chosen as the main prop. SHIMIZU revealed that rather than using umbrellas individually, they directed it so that by repeatedly folding and unfolding several umbrellas together, it would look like giant wings when viewed from a distance.

SHIMIZU also put effort into color usage for the visual contrast of the stage. In accordance with the theme of a fallen angel, SHIMIZU chose white, while the dancers chose toned-down outfits to create contrast. In particular, SHIMIZU explained that white was set considering the section where they would have to be hit directly, and strengthened the storytelling through the black and white color scheme that contrasts with the dancers' outfits.

Stage narrative completed with beam lighting and 'blood tears' setting

Technical and symbolic elements to increase the dramatic effect of the stage were also revealed. SHIMIZU attempted a method of providing a visual shock (Wow point) by using beam lighting in this stage. In the conversation in the video, team members are seen noting SHIMIZU's attempt while mentioning the production using beams.

For symbolic color contrast, a 'blood tears' setting was utilized. While SHIMIZU chose silver tears, red-colored blood tears were set for the dancers to concretize the theme. Furthermore, the video confirms that SHIMIZU focused on building a narrative that could show their true self, considering it is the last stage, such as expressing the character's 'awakening' through production using hoods.

Meanwhile, the 8th episode of 〈Street World Fighter: Directors' War〉, which deals with the war of choreographers' works, is scheduled to be broadcast simultaneously on Mnet and tvN on October 6 at 10:10 PM.
