Singer Kim Yong-bin disclosed on a TVCHOSUN JOY video that perfectionism led to panic disorder and a period of being unable to perform on stage. To manage his health, the singer maintains a strict lifestyle that includes avoiding coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes, while eating delivery food at most once or twice a year.

Singer Kim Yong-bin has revealed the pain of panic disorder hidden behind his glamorous stage presence and the thorough self-management process he uses to overcome it. A video from TVCHOSUN JOY captures the psychological pressure he has faced from his early childhood, when he began singing at the age of seven, through to his adulthood.

"The more precious the stage, the greater the pressure"... Stage hiatus due to panic disorder

Kim Yong-bin recalled his experience performing on stage since he was seven years old, long before his official debut in 2004. During his childhood, he received warm welcomes, such as adults giving him pocket money or buying him jajangmyeon after a performance, but the situation was entirely different after he became an adult. He revealed that around the age of twenty in 2012, he experienced a period where he drifted away from public attention following his past popularity. Mentioning the situation where no one came to find him at that time, Kim confessed that because every single stage was so precious to him, the pressure to perform well led to panic disorder, which caused him to be unable to stand on stage for a period of time.

"Flawless" self-management with no coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, or delivery food

Despite his psychological suffering, Kim Yong-bin has shown an uncompromising attitude toward managing himself. He stated that he has never once had coffee and has never even touched alcohol or cigarettes. Having started singing around the age of 13, the habit of moderation became ingrained in him considering his family environment and his activities in the entertainment industry. He added that he has never even gone to a club due to the thought that something major could happen within the industry.

His dietary management is also strict. He limits himself to the point where he eats delivery food perhaps once or twice a year, preferring to cook for himself for the sake of his health and skin. He showed his daily life involving cooking, such as asking the mother of a close older brother for a doenjang-jjigae recipe. Kim stated that he restrains himself from delivery food to the extent that he eats it at most once or twice a year, as he believes it is not good for his skin and health.

Twenty skincare products... A daily routine created by perfectionism

Kim Yong-bin's self-management reaches its peak in skincare. He makes it a fundamental rule to wash his hands very thoroughly when cleansing, showing meticulousness by using oil cleansing to remove even fine impurities. In his basic skincare steps, he uses a very diverse range of products, including ampoules, creams, and sunscreens, in a specific order. The basic steps observed in the video involve applying about four products, followed by an ampoule, pore-related products, trouble and redness relief products, nourishing cream, and finally sunscreen.

"Because I have perfectionism in everything, I unconditionally consider self-management to be important," he stated. However, he added that this perfectionist tendency also makes things difficult for him. He confessed that the process of having to follow numerous management steps and rules even on his days off sometimes results in fatigue.
