During a recent broadcast of JTBC's 'Chef & My Fridge', Jonathan revealed he sent a long, sincere message to track and field national athlete Daniel to celebrate his Asian Games achievements, jokingly claiming he was "drunk on himself" when he sent it.
Behind the victories of national athletes often follow unexpected and warm celebrations from acquaintances. In a recent broadcast of JTBC's 'Chef & My Fridge', judo national athlete Huh Mi-mi and track and field national athlete Daniel appeared to share congratulatory messages they received after their performances at the Asian Games and personal behind-the-scenes stories.
"Everyone around me praises you"... Jonathan's unexpected long message
During the broadcast, the attention turned to a message sent by cast member Jonathan to track and field national athlete Daniel. Despite his usual personality of not writing long messages, it was revealed that he sent a sincere message to celebrate Daniel's achievements. In the message, Jonathan conveyed the praise Daniel received from those around him, stating, "Everyone around me likes you," and "My family members as well, and wherever I go, there is talk of you." He particularly emphasized that Daniel's performance brought great joy to those around him without any special help from him, adding, "Even though I haven't done anything for you."

There was also a somewhat unexpected part in the message content. When Jonathan hinted at the situation at the time of sending the message by saying, "It smells a bit like beer," playful speculation arose on set that the message might have been a "drunk truth." Regarding this, Jonathan lightened the mood by jokingly claiming, "I was drunk on myself when I sent it to you." Meanwhile, Jonathan also teased Daniel with a joke about his running skills, suggesting there wasn't much difference between them.
From her grandmother's last words to being a descendant of an independence activist... the special reasons for becoming a national athlete
Huh Mi-mi drew emotions by revealing her personal narrative leading up to becoming a judo national athlete. She stated that her grandmother's last words during her elementary school years became her motivation to become a national athlete. She explained that her grandmother, who loved judo very much, had said, "Since you are my daughter, I hope you go to Korea and become a representative," and this memory has led to her current sense of responsibility. Although it could be a sad memory, Huh Mi-mi accepted it calmly, saying, "I think about it very naturally now."

It was also mentioned that during the process of registering as a Korean national athlete, she discovered she is a descendant of the independence activist Huh Seok. Huh Mi-mi, who confirmed this fact later—something even her parents did not know—added that this served as an opportunity to further solidify her mindset and sense of responsibility as a national athlete. During the Asian Games, she faced disqualification due to a false penalty decision in the preliminaries, but she managed to win a medal through an appeal conducted with the coach's decision and the athletes' consent. She shared that the bronze medal, won while setting a new Korean record, was even more meaningful. She also recalled intense moments during the match, such as pretending to be in pain when an opponent twisted her arm, only to express joy once the opponent passed by.
Daniel's goal is 'his mother's comfortable life'... simple diet in the refrigerator
Track and field national athlete Daniel expressed his deep affection for his mother along with the background of how he obtained Korean nationality. He noted that thanks to his mother's long-term study of the Korean language, he was able to start exercising in Korea and can now wear the national emblem. Rather than grand honor, Daniel added sincerity by naming his biggest goals as "the realistic situation of having to move out of the house at the end of this month" and "letting my mother live in a more comfortable place."
The eating habits of the two athletes were also revealed. Daniel showed his side as a "sweet lover," preferring to eat a bagel with Nutella for breakfast and enjoying snacks like various types of rice cakes (garaetteok, jeolpyeon, etc.) accompanied by grain syrup. On the other hand, he showed a slight weakness toward spicy food, stating he finds intense spiciness, such as Buldak Ramen, difficult. Huh Mi-mi shared her simple daily tastes and diet as a national athlete, expressing longing for the clean soybean paste stew made by the owner of a Korean meal restaurant she frequently visited while living in the athlete dormitory.
