Gochang Hanok Village, Famous as a Celebrity Destination, Switches to Direct County Management

Gochang Eupseong Hanok Village, which became a hot topic after being visited by famous celebrities such as actor Gong Yoo, singer Rain, and entertainer Noh Hong-chul, will now be operated under the direct management system of Gochang County, Jeonbuk. In line with the launch of the 9th local election administration, Gochang County has terminated the consignment contracts for the existing Gochang Eupseong Hanok Village and the Gochang Tidal Flat Auto Camping Ground Glamping facilities, which were previously managed by private contractors, and transitioned to a direct management system led by the county as of the 3rd.

This transition to direct management is a measure to activate 'stay-over tourism,' where tourists stay longer in the region by improving the quality of accommodation services. Through this, Gochang County aims to enhance its tourism competitiveness and reach the era of 20 million tourists.

From Hanoks to Glamping, 4 Representative Gochang Accommodations to be Directly Managed

With this decision, Gochang County will directly operate four representative local accommodation facilities, including the Gochang Eupseong Hanok Village and the Gochang Tidal Flat Auto Camping Ground Glamping facilities, as well as the Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel and Seonunsan Youth Hostel.

Gochang Eupseong Hanok Village (128 Dongri, Gochang-eup, Gochang-gun) is an accommodation consisting of 11 rooms that combine the beauty of traditional Hanok with modern convenience. Thanks to its tranquil atmosphere set against the backdrop of Gochang Eupseong, it is highly popular among family travelers and group tourists. In particular, it has established itself as a representative stay-over tourism attraction in Gochang, known as a destination visited by famous celebrities.

The Gochang Tidal Flat Auto Camping Ground Glamping facility (55-25 Dueo 1-gil, Simwon-myeon, Gochang-gun), located near the West Coast tidal flats, has also joined the direct management system. Comprising a total of 9 units, this site caters to tourists seeking relaxation in nature.

Operation of Marine Healing Programs Tailored for the Summer Peak Season

In response to the summer peak season in July and August, Gochang County is introducing various experience programs linked with its accommodation facilities. At the Gochang Tidal Flat Auto Camping Ground Glamping facility, the marine healing program 'Tidal Flat SEA-nema' will be operated a total of 12 times every Saturday throughout July and August.

The Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel and Seonunsan Youth Hostel, catering to eco-tourists, will also increase management efficiency under the direct management system to broaden the choices available to tourists. Gochang County is supporting easy access to accommodations by establishing an open reservation system that anyone can use conveniently.
