Actress Yuna begins nationwide GV relay for 'Shadow Child'

A mystery completed with dual roles, meeting audiences nationwide

The mystery drama film 'Shadow Child' is entering a nationwide Guest Visit (GV) schedule as it enters its second week of release. Having opened on the 1st and gaining popularity through word-of-mouth, the film plans to share production behind-the-scenes stories and the film's worldview in depth, led by Director Yoo Eun-jung, actress Yuna, and film critics.

The GV schedule will continue in a relay format at art cinemas across the country, starting in Seoul and moving to Busan, Daegu, Jeonju, and Daejeon. On the 12th at Megabox Yongin Techno Valley, actress Yuna, Director Yoo Eun-jung, and film journalist Kim Hyun-min will meet with the audience. On the 14th at Art Nine, Yuna and Director Yoo Eun-jung will appear with film journalist Jang Seong-ran to share stories from behind the scenes.

In the Seoul area, a conversation between Director Yoo Eun-jung and critic Jung Sung-il is scheduled at KU Cinematheque on the 16th, and on the 17th at the Busan Cinema Center, Director Yoo Eun-jung will be joined by Park Doo-hee, CEO of the production company Dal-ligi, and Director Kwak Eun-mi. On the same day at Daegu OO Theater, audience programmer Kim Min-gyu will participate, and on the 18th, Director Yoo Eun-jung and CEO Park Doo-hee will meet audiences at Jeonju Digital Independent Film Cinema and Daejeon Art Cinema.

Yuna's restrained acting delving into Su-an's secrets

'Shadow Child' deals with the events that unfold when Su-an (played by Park So-yi), who had been in a coma for a long three years, wakes up. Su-an faces her changed mother Geum-ok (played by Im Soo-jung) and a girl named Jae-in who has the face of her deceased older sister Su-ryeon, one after another, as she tracks the secret of the 'Shadow Fairy Tale' intertwined with her family. This work, which first garnered attention for its original setting at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, focused on maximizing the mysterious atmosphere.

In particular, actress Yuna heightened the immersion of the film by simultaneously playing the contrasting characters of Su-ryeon and Jae-in. Although the two characters have the same face, Yuna embodied their different personalities through differences in gaze, expression, and subtle nuances in speech. Her restrained acting, which conveys psychological changes through gaze and expression rather than pouring out emotions through dialogue, is cited as a key element in completing the film's unique chilling atmosphere.

For the Seoul KU Cinematheque schedule on the 16th, critic Jung Sung-il will appear as a conversationalist.
