A 10 Million Won Act of Warmth on Her Birthday, Aimed at Neighbors in the Heatwave
Actress Moon Ga-young has practiced a special act of sharing to celebrate her birthday. On July 10, Moon donated 10 million won to help those vulnerable to heatwaves through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. This donation will be used entirely for relief supplies and heatwave response activities for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, who are suffering from the continuous sweltering heat.
Moon revealed that she has not limited her donations to one-time events but has been considering meaningful ways to share every year on her birthday. She expressed her reason for the donation, saying, "I hope this will be a small help for my neighbors to spend the summer safely and healthily." It was a move filled with the desire to provide practical help to neighbors exhausted by the heat.
Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association also expressed gratitude for Moon Ga-young's decision. Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, responded by saying, "It is by no means an easy thing to think of the vulnerable first on one's own birthday," and added that they would do their best to ensure the donor's warm intentions quickly reach neighbors struggling with the heat.
Consistent Good Deeds at Every Disaster Site, Member of the Honors Club
This is not the first time Moon Ga-young has performed such good deeds. She has consistently donated funds whenever unexpected disasters such as floods, forest fires, or building fires occurred, helping neighbors in affected areas recover their daily lives. In recognition of this continuous sharing and contribution, Moon Ga-young is also active as a member of the 'Hope Bridge Honors Club,' a group for high-value donors of Hope Bridge.
Rather than a donation simply using her fame, her actions stand out as she has consistently raised her voice without turning away from the pain of disaster sites. Hope Bridge, a specialized disaster relief organization, plans to continue specific activities, such as preparing relief supplies, to ensure Moon Ga-young's donation is used effectively for heatwave response.
