Uhm Jeong-hwa “I’m still nervous because it’s a movie with my name on it”
Actress Uhm Jeong-hwa expressed her nervous feelings ahead of the release of the movie 'Okay Madam 2'. Before its release on August 12, she will hold stage greetings in Daegu and Busan.
Actress Uhm Jeong-hwa, marking her 34th year since debut, confessed that she still feels nervous whenever a movie is about to be released. In a recent video uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Hong Jin-kyung's Study King,' Uhm Jeong-hwa shared her honest feelings while mentioning her upcoming film 'Okay Madam 2.'
Uhm Jeong-hwa explained that the project was a result of a miraculous outcome. The previous film, 'Okay Madam,' was a huge hit, surpassing 1.22 million viewers within just one week of its release. However, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out just as it was approaching the 2 million viewer mark, creating variables in the production process. She added that the production of this sequel was made possible thanks to the positive response received through OTT platforms, even when theater attendance became difficult at the time.
"I'm putting my name on it" – The excitement and tension revealed by Uhm Jeong-hwa
When Hong Jin-kyung asked if she feels nervous every time she does a movie, Uhm Jeong-hwa showed a facial expression of mixed excitement and tension, saying, "Of course I'm nervous. I'm putting my name on it." This part shows that despite being a veteran actress with over 30 years of career, she maintains the same attitude toward her work as she did at the beginning. Additionally, Uhm Jeong-hwa mentioned the bond with the 'Okay Madam' team. She stated that while many actors go their separate ways after a project ends, the 'Okay Madam' team has maintained a tight friendship, meeting frequently even after filming was completed.
This sequel, 'Okay Madam 2,' is a comic action blockbuster about former legend agent Mi-young (played by Uhm Jeong-hwa) and her family, who face a cruise hijacking incident in the middle of the blue ocean during a luxury cruise trip. It is ready to meet audiences this summer, featuring even more enhanced action and pleasant laughter than the previous film.
