Comedian Pyo In-bong, born in 1965, has been volunteering at Seoul Station since 2024, following a suggestion from his wife, Yu Jung-hwa. In a video released on CGN's official YouTube channel on the 16th, Pyo is seen arriving at the plaza with his wife, preparing bungeoppang and fish cakes for the homeless. He said, "I started the care package service in 2024," explaining the background of the two-year-long volunteer effort.

Volunteer Work Started at Wife's Suggestion

Yu Jung-hwa said, "I wanted to give the homeless people freshly baked bungeoppang rather than cold food. I thought it would be nice for them to have something warm on a cold day." Pyo In-bong took care of finding the location and organizing the preparations. The Seoul Station plaza was already filled with people waiting for the service, and Pyo prepared performances and magic tricks to entertain those waiting. He said, "I prepared the performances because I thought they might get bored while waiting," adding, "Calling it a plan sounds too grand."

Life Direction Shifted by Faith and Service

Pyo In-bong began studying the Bible in his 40s, influenced by broadcaster Kim Won-hee, and continued his faith life as a pastor at the same church. He later became involved in missionary work and volunteer activities. In KBS' "Morning Forum," he said, "I actually have many jobs," mentioning his work in broadcasting, managing a performance planning and production company, producing musicals, and serving as a pastor.
