Shin Ae-ra: "Please do not be fooled by impersonation accounts that have nothing to do with me"

Actress Shin Ae-ra has warned fans to be cautious after a fake SNS account impersonating her surfaced. On the 27th, Shin posted a screenshot of the impersonating account's profile on her SNS, making it clear that the account has no connection to her.

The captured image shows the fraudulent account using Shin Ae-ra's name and photo. The profile description reads, "I am eternally grateful to my supporters," misleading fans into believing it is her official account. The ID is also set to be very similar to her actual official account. Shin took proactive steps to prevent damage, stating, "This is an impersonating account that has nothing to do with me. I do not have any other accounts, so please do not be deceived."

Sophisticated Identity Theft and Widespread Damage Across the Entertainment Industry

Recently, there has been a surge in SNS crimes where accounts impersonate celebrities to approach fans. The agency of actor Um Ki-joon also issued a warning after receiving reports that an account impersonating Um Ki-joon had been attempting to contact fans on SNS. Um Ki-joon's side emphasized that all accounts other than the official ones are fraudulent. They requested that if anyone discovers an impersonating account, they should report it via email with a screenshot and immediately block and report the account.

This type of impersonation damage is not limited to specific individuals. Numerous celebrities, including broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon, actress Choi Jung-yoon, actress Oh Na-ra, Cool member Lee Jae-hoon, broadcaster Mi Ja, singer Jang Yoon-jeong, and YouTuber Tzuyang, have also reported being victims of impersonating accounts.
