After an eight-year wait, a brutal journey for a missing youngest daughter begins. The film 'The Journey to Gyeong-ju' is set to hit theaters nationwide on August 26. This family revenge drama follows four women who unite to seek justice for their youngest daughter, Gyeong-ju, who never returned from a school field trip.

On the 29th, distributor Lotte Entertainment simultaneously released four character posters for director Kim Mi-jo's first commercial feature, 'The Journey to Gyeong-ju,' along with a 'Suspicious Family Video' capturing the unique personalities of the four women. The released materials showcase the determination of the four characters as they charge toward their revenge.

A mother who lost her child and daughters who help for any reason

In the posters, the mother, Ok-sil (played by Lee Jung-eun), has a resolute gaze, having transformed her grief over losing her child into a thirst for vengeance. She shows her determination to protect her daughters, saying, "Tell them it was something I did alone." The first to respond to her mother's decision is the eldest daughter, Jang-ju (played by Gong Hyo-jin). Jang-ju acts as a supporter, siding with her mother and shouting, "What logic is needed for a family matter?"

The second daughter, Yeong-ju (played by Park So Dam), shows her side as a cold-blooded strategist, stating, "I said I'd just make the plans and then step out." She is the one who meticulously designs alibis and sets the stage for revenge. The third daughter, Dong-ju (played by Lee Yeon), who is directly linked to the youngest's disappearance, is teased as an action-oriented character roaming the scene with a shocked expression and the phrase, "Is she really dead?"

The accompanying video reveals why the four women embarked on this journey. To resolve the injustice of the youngest, Gyeong-ju, who failed to return from a school trip eight years ago, the family unites under the leadership of the trip organizer, Ok-sil. In the video, the eldest, Jang-ju, shows her unwavering devotion to her mother, worrying about her constantly and following her word unconditionally. The second daughter, Yeong-ju, declares she will keep her distance from the family intellectually, yet she is the one who develops the practical revenge plan.

The third daughter, Dong-ju, throws herself into the field without hesitation, even in dangerous situations. Driven by the anger accumulated over eight years, they engage in relentless pursuit and physical confrontations against their target. The released video and posters suggest that the film follows the conventions of a thriller.
