In the drama 'Squid Game,', Park Hae-soo splits even a 58,000 won bill with friends
Park Hae-soo showcased his 20-year friendship with the members of Hwayangyeonhwa, with whom he lived together for eight years, by revealing their casual daily life of splitting the bill.
Park Hae-soo, star of the Netflix series 'Squid Game,' revealed his down-to-earth daily life, including splitting meal costs with his close friends. On the July 7 broadcast of KBS2's 'Happy Together - Not Alone Because We're Together' (hereafter 'Happy Together'), Park appeared alongside Choi Seong-won, Lim Chul-soo, and Park Jae-yoon under the group name 'Hwayangyeonhwa,' showcasing a bond that has lasted 20 years.
The group members are colleagues who lived together in Suyu-dong for eight years and performed in the same theater troupe. Park Hae-soo, the eldest, explained their long-standing connection, saying, "Our friendship is very deep." Team leader Choi Seong-won noted that this appearance was a special occasion, stating, "In the past 20 years, the four of us have never done something together like this."A Global Star's Daily Life: Even Splitting a 58,000 Won Bill
Despite becoming a global star, Park Hae-soo's daily life remains ordinary. Choi Seong-won shared an anecdote from a recent second round of gathering after their practice session. "We went for a second round, but since we didn't eat much, the bill was only about 58,000 won. I naturally assumed he (Park Hae-soo) would pay, but he suggested splitting the bill," Choi said, bringing laughter to the set. Lim Chul-soo added that they split the bill with Park Hae-soo paying slightly more.
Episodes from their time living together also followed. Although Park Hae-soo had paid the largest portion of the security deposit at the time, he ended up with the smallest room based on the results of a rock-paper-scissors game. Even after Park left Suyu-dong upon getting married, the group continued to meet frequently. Lim Chul-soo remarked, "Hae-soo hyung left when he got married, but we saw him so often. Jang Hang-jun teased Yuri, jokingly claiming she wouldn't answer his questions back then, drawing laughter from the audience.
Approaching her 20th debut anniversary next year, Yuri did not forget her stage presence. When Yoon Jong-shin mentioned how she used to dance enthusiastically during their early broadcasting days together, Yuri responded with "Do you want to see it?" and delivered an impromptu dance with the same energy she had about 20 years ago.
