In a video released on the YouTube channel 'YouTube Ha Ji-young', Nam Gyu-ri mentioned the situation where she had to leave the industry in the past and her feelings at that time during a conversation held right after SeeYa's 20th anniversary concert.

Nam Gyu-ri revealed that in the past, there were situations where she had to leave the industry, not simply because work wasn't coming in. In the conversation within the video, she said she went through desperate times to the point where she felt, "The whole nation hated me." Explaining her feelings at the time, she mentioned that she was so desperate that she even prayed that if she were truly a bad person, she would be prevented from working altogether. At the same time, she added that she prayed to "meet a time where, if my sincerity is known, I can live while doing the work I love."
She expressed that walking through "times that were like a very thick fog" at a young age was what caused her to grow. She continued with the sentiment that because of these times, there is a current reward, and they were able to hold the SeeYa concert.
