A behind-the-scenes video has been released showing the preparation process and stage performances of SEVENTEEN members VERNON and The8 for the '2026 V8 LIVE' concert. The released video records the entire process of the performance, from pre-performance rehearsals to on-stage remarks and thoughts immediately after the show.
"Worried about the new standing configuration, but..." From rehearsal to the main performance
During the pre-performance rehearsal stage, VERNON and The8 held detailed discussions regarding stage production and the composition of remarks. In the video, the performers conversed to increase the quality of the stage by checking lighting positions, other balances, and camera movements. In particular, VERNON expressed his concerns regarding the length of his solo remarks, stating, "About 5 to 10 minutes seems appropriate." VERNON also expressed his difficulties regarding the preparation of remarks, saying, "Even though I kept organizing it yesterday, it's not being organized well."
After the main performance began, the two presented a new type of stage that differed from the existing SEVENTEEN performance format. Through the remarks in the video, VERNON stated, "We are thinking very hard to do it in a new format, but I wanted to enjoy it in a standing configuration together with the fans." During the performance, songs including the unreleased track 'Get Me Up' followed, and VERNON shared his thoughts, saying, "From the song to the music video, it was very meaningful to me."
"I was able to run because of the fans' eyes" Interaction on stage
During the performance, VERNON and The8 continued to communicate with the fans. After finishing the group greetings and the performance that lasted for over an hour, VERNON said, "When CARATs were jumping and enjoying like this and looking at me with loving eyes, I felt that I had been running like this for several days just for this moment." The8 also added, "While doing rehearsals, I was slightly worried about how the reaction would be because the format was very different from SEVENTEEN performances, but since the energy was alive from the opening, I was able to do it enjoyably."
Mentions of the intensity of the performance also followed. Through the rehearsals and the main performance, the members conveyed the heat of the performance, saying things like "The preparation time was so insufficient that I think we showed a lot of shortcomings" or "I'm at the point where my legs are cramping because I kept running." In particular, the video captured VERNON receiving help from the members during the process of changing and adjusting clothes for his solo stage preparation.
"A time of growing together, a leap as artists" Closing thoughts on the performance
After finishing the two-day performance, the two concluded by mentioning their gratitude toward each other and their growth as artists. VERNON expressed his gratitude toward The8, saying, "I am so thankful for providing such an opportunity," and adding, "All the staff this time were wonderful." The8 also gave meaning to the event, saying, "In this process of V8, the two of us are in a relationship of completing each other."
The two also shared the changes they felt as artists through this performance. VERNON said, "I think I have grown tremendously in terms of stage performance style," and The8 expressed satisfaction with the new attempt, saying, "I felt my skills improving rapidly from the eighth performance." The two concluded the performance by expressing their ambitious yet regretful aspirations, saying, "Next time, we want to perform in more cities for longer, until we have about ten thousand songs."
