Comedian Hwang Je-sung tasted 'Pizza Seolgi', a recently trending dessert, and engaged in a conversation about MZ generation trends.

According to a video from the YouTube channel 'Hwang Je-sung from Today', Hwang Je-sung was presented with a dessert brought by the cast in a vlog-style comedy content set in a rooftop room. The dessert is 'Pizza Seolgi', which features pizza sauce topped on white rice cake (baekseolgi), and was introduced as a product recently created in traditional markets to target the tastes of the younger generation. The cast in the video mentioned that this product is a trending item following Dubai Tofu and Shanghai Butter Rice Cake.

In the video, upon first encountering Pizza Seolgi, Hwang Je-sung questioned the combination of pizza and white rice cake. Hwang Je-sung asked, "If it's pizza, it's pizza, and if it's white rice cake, it's white rice cake, so why eat the two together?" and reacted by saying, "Wouldn't this combination be too apologetic to our ancestors?" He also gave a joking reaction, suggesting he didn't think the combination of pizza and rice cake would work, wondering if they were ignoring traditional markets.

In response, the cast explained, "That is the recent trend," and stated that the products were made by rice cake shop officials to suit the tastes of young people. It was further mentioned that as visits from the younger generation to traditional markets have recently increased, many products with such combinations are being made and sold.
