"Making the most of the 40th anniversary"... from concerts to musical challenges

Marking 40 years since his debut this year, Lee Seung-chul signaled a relentless schedule ahead. Regarding his future plans, Lee stated, "I will continue to be active under the title of '40'," adding, "I am planning a world tour through 20 cities next year, and I am planning a musical composed only of my own songs for 2027 and 2028." Describing himself as a "workaholic," he expressed affection for the process of constantly creating new stages.

"Come as my birthday present"... an unconventional concert invitation for Yu Yeong-u

The meeting went beyond a simple conversation between senior and junior, leading to an unusual situation where Lee Seung-chul directly proposed that Yu Yeong-u appear as a guest at his concert. After Yu Yeong-u performed the song "Jasmine Flower" a cappella, Lee, having confirmed his vocal volume and skill, suggested he perform at the upcoming concert to be held at the KSPO DOME on December 6.

Lee added an interesting touch to the scene by mentioning that Yu Yeong-u's birthday coincides with his own, saying, "It would be great if you come on my birthday (December 5)." While appearing flustered by the unconventional proposal from his senior, Yu Yeong-u expressed his respect for Lee by mentioning his masterpiece songs, such as "Jasmine Flower" and "Fate."

Sound pressure control and stage manners... a veteran's know-how

The two also conversed about technical aspects of being a singer. Lee emphasized the importance of "sound pressure control" to handle long-duration performances. He explained that as one sings many songs, they learn to control sound pressure, mastering how to manage the throat while singing as performance experience accumulates.

They also discussed past methods of microphone usage. Lee reminisced about the stage manners of singers in the past, mentioning the "wired microphones" that are rarely seen these days. Yu Yeong-u expressed his desire to learn Lee's know-how, taking time to pay tribute to his senior's musical depth.
