In celebration of the Chuseok holiday, the government is promoting the 'Chuseok Livelihood Stabilization Measures' to alleviate the economic burden on households. This measure, which focuses on stabilizing grocery prices, reducing transportation costs, and supplying funds to small business owners during the holiday period, is centered on practical livelihood support.

Measures to Alleviate Grocery Prices and Transportation Costs

According to a video from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the government will expand the supply of major seasonal goods with high holiday demand to record levels. The intention is to lower inflationary pressure by increasing the supply of major items such as apples, pears, and beef. By distribution channel, 50% discount benefits will be provided at online marts, and a refund system for traditional market users will also be operated. After purchasing goods at a traditional market, if you bring your receipt, you can immediately receive a 30% refund (up to 20,000 won) of the purchase amount in Onnuri Gift Certificates.

Measures to reduce the transportation cost burden for citizens visiting their hometowns will also be implemented. For the four days of the Chuseok holiday, highway tolls nationwide will be fully exempted. Additionally, considering the demand for outings, the government plans to issue up to 80,000 accommodation discount coupons.

Support for Small Business Owners, SMEs, and Public Finance

Measures to revitalize the livelihood economy through financial support were also included. The government plans to supply a total of 43.4 trillion won in holiday funds targeting small business owners and SMEs during the holiday period. Along with this, the scale of policy finance support for the general public and youth will be significantly expanded up to 480 billion won to alleviate the financial burden of vulnerable groups.
