Bucheon Daejang 3rd Generation New City Construction Progress at 34%... Speeding Up 20,000 Housing Supply and Inspecting Safety Management

As the site development progress rate for the Bucheon Daejang District, one of the 3rd Generation New Cities, has reached 34%, an inspection was conducted to strengthen the rapid execution of housing supply and on-site safety management.

According to a video from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Minister Hong Ji-seon of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport visited the Bucheon Daejang District, a 3rd Generation New City, after taking office to inspect the status of the project's progress. The Bucheon Daejang District, covering an area of approximately 140,000 pyeong, is planned to be developed for a target population of 44,000 people and a total of 20,000 households. Currently, the overall site development progress rate is at the 34% stage.

1,640 households in the urban development project within Bucheon Daejang District scheduled to move in next November

During the site inspection, a specific supply schedule for the urban development project area implemented by Bucheon City was shared. According to the explanation from officials in the video, a total of 1,640 households, including Block A5 (952 households) and Block A6 (688 households) among the areas currently being inspected, are being progressed with the goal of moving in next November. The area was confirmed to be a separate urban development project area called 'Daejang Andongne'.

Minister Hong urged relevant agencies to thoroughly manage on-site safety and construction quality while simultaneously increasing the speed of housing supply. Minister Hong requested, "Please take appropriate and meticulous care of the project speed, project quality, and safety management," and emphasized strengthening the cooperation system of relevant agencies for rapid implementation.

In particular, instructions were given regarding the prevention of on-site safety accidents and the prevention of construction errors. Minister Hong ordered to manage "thoroughly so that safety accidents do not occur on-site," while also requesting to ensure quality through "cross-checks" during the design and construction processes. Additionally, she instructed to reconfirm the difficulties of each district and, if agenda items arise, for relevant agencies to gather immediately to review measures through meetings.

Mentioning her work experience in Gyeonggi Province, Minister Hong requested active responses to increase project execution capability, saying, "I ask you to think together about what the most optimal method is to provide housing quickly."
