Unique Korean menu items, including Jjamppong based on chicken broth and beef tartare made with freshly prepared long-arm octopus, were served. The fourth episode of "Trot Kitchen: Traveling Dinner Show," reported by TV CHOSUN JOY, captured the process of the cast members preparing for a sincere dinner show by handling the ingredients themselves.
Chili oil for Jjamppong and the unexpected chicken broth combination
The core of the day's cooking was the production of chili oil for the Jjamppong. The cast members put great effort into the process, sharing a cooking tip that the heat must be turned off once the color has sufficiently risen while using red chili powder to make the oil. In particular, their use of chili oil to recreate the "Sammyeon Jjamppong" style, which differs from typical Jjamppong, drew attention.
An unexpected element appeared in the broth ingredients that determine the deep flavor of the Jjamppong. When the method of using raw chicken to make the broth for the Jjamppong was introduced, the cast members watching expressed surprise at the fact that chicken was being used in Jjamppong. The process of boiling whole onions, radish, and green onions demonstrated the devotion put into the dish.
Large squid preparation and the appearance of long-arm octopus beef tartare
The menu preparation continued with the handling of seafood. During the process of using large squid, tasks such as removing the entrails and separating the bones and eyes were carried out. The cast members moved busily while discussing the difficulty of preparing squid.
The following menu was beef tartare using long-arm octopus. The beef tartare, prepared using beef rump and long-arm octopus, was made in a portion of approximately 250g. The tartare, featuring finely chopped long-arm octopus with a touch of red chili paste, captured the cast members' palates with its chewy texture felt immediately upon eating. After tasting the prepared food, they expressed high satisfaction with the freshness of the ingredients and the chewy texture.
Love Song resonates amidst the atmosphere of Jangheung
During the cooking process, an exciting stage that matched the atmosphere of Jangheung was also held. The cast members heightened the excitement of the scene by singing "Love Song." Despite the exhaustion of preparing the food, the process of sharing a meal along with music continued, forming the unique atmosphere of a dinner show.
