Park Mi-sun ends exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment after six-year partnership
Having overcome her battle with breast cancer, Park Mi-sun is preparing for a new chapter after ending her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment, with whom she shared a six-year partnership.
Broadcaster Park Mi-sun has concluded her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment, her agency of six years. Having overcome her battle with breast cancer and resumed her broadcasting activities, Park is now embarking on a new chapter as an independent artist.
On the 8th, Cube Entertainment announced in an official statement that, following thorough discussions with Park Mi-sun, they have decided to terminate their exclusive contract. The agency expressed gratitude for the energy and laughter Park has provided since 2020 and stated they will cherish the passion she demonstrated while overcoming difficult times. Furthermore, they asked for continued support for Park as she prepares for her new beginning.
A Six-Year Partnership Since 2020
The relationship between Park Mi-sun and Cube Entertainment began in January 2020. After signing the contract, Park worked alongside the agency's other artists and continued her career across various variety shows. While the agency managed Park for six years, they recently decided to end the contract in conjunction with her recent health issues.
Park Mi-sun, who debuted in 1988 through the 2nd MBC Gag Contest, established herself as a top-tier comedian through major variety programs, ranging from MBC comedy sketches to KBS2's 'Happy Together' and MBC's 'Sebakwi.' Even during her contract with Cube, she maintained a unique presence based on this extensive career.
Battle with Breast Cancer and Return After 10 Months
Park Mi-sun's hiatus was caused by health issues. In February 2024, she halted all broadcasting activities to enter a period of rest for health reasons. Concerns grew among fans when it was later revealed in August 2025 that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. At the time, the agency stated that while specific medical details were difficult to confirm, she was resting due to health issues.
Even during her treatment, Park continued to communicate with her fans. Appearing on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' in November 2025, Park appeared with short hair due to the effects of chemotherapy. During this broadcast appearance, her first in approximately 10 months, she personally confessed to her battle with breast cancer and shared her current status. She later shared her recovery process through her personal social media accounts.
Lee Bong-won's Update and Resumption of Broadcasting Activities
Details regarding Park Mi-sun's health were confirmed through her family. Her husband, Lee Bong-won, appeared on SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny' and stated, "She has completed her treatment and is currently monitoring her progress while taking medication." This indicated that his wife's condition had stabilized. After completing her treatment, Park announced the full-scale resumption of her broadcasting activities through MBN's 'Precious Family of Someone Else' last June.
Recently, Park Mi-sun met the public in good health during an appearance on comedian Kim Young-chul's YouTube channel. Although she was hurt by some malicious comments during her return to broadcasting, Park is expanding her professional scope as she recovers her health. All eyes are now on her next moves following the termination of her agency contract.
