Just as former President Donald Trump led the creation of the Space Force in the past, he has now presented a plan to create an 'AI Force' to establish artificial intelligence (AI) as a separate, powerful national strategic system. This goes beyond simply creating AI-related units; it is a vision to integrate fragmented technological assets—such as the United States Department of Defense, government agencies, private AI companies, and data centers—into a single national security system.

Inheriting the Space Force Model... 'Direct Commissioning' of Private Experts and 'Rapid Execution' are Key

According to a Trade King video, Trump's AI Force vision follows the successful precedent of the Space Force policy, which was once met with ridicule. Just as the Space Force integrated space-related technologies that were scattered across the Air Force and Navy, the AI Force also aims to gather AI technologies from the Department of Defense, United States Department of Commerce, United States Department of Energy, and the private sector into a single organization.

The video analyzes that the AI Force will operate under a mechanism entirely different from the general administrative bureaucratic system. The biggest differences are 'personnel management' and 'decision-making speed.' While general bureaucratic systems must go through recruitment exams and promotion procedures, applying a military organizational model would allow for 'direct commissioning,' where private experts such as chief researchers or Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) from Big Tech companies can be appointed immediately in the field. This is expected to take the form of fully applying the method currently used by the U.S. military when recruiting military doctors, legal officers, or cyber warfare experts to the AI field.

Furthermore, unlike general administrative departments that must undergo complex procedures such as freedom of information acts, administrative audits, or legislative hearings, the AI Force will be structured to rapidly execute budgets and implant technology into military systems under a direct line of command from the President, based on military secrecy. The video explains that if such a structure is secured, it will create a background where new technologies can be procured in just a few days and immediately implanted into military systems.

"Countering Chinese Speed"... Turning Private Technology into National Security Assets

The background of this strategic change lies in the competition for AI hegemony with China. The video explains that to respond to the speed at which the Communist Party of China moves by decisively seizing national resources, the United States also intends to secure security, speed, and mandatory manpower mobilization, even if it means sacrificing some existing democratic and administrative procedures. In other words, it intends to absorb AI technology concentrated in the private sector into the national security system to neutralize hostile nations' cyberattacks and directly operate AI drone swarms, autonomous command and control systems, and AI-based satellite surveillance networks.
