SpaceV, which operates the real estate short-term rental platform 33m2, is moving to strengthen housing services for foreigners staying in Korea. SpaceV announced on the 24th that it has been finally selected as a participating company in the '2026 Tourism Global Challenge' program hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Organisasi Pariwisata Korea.
Expanding overseas and responding to foreign demand based on government support
The Tourism Global Challenge is a program designed to support the overseas expansion of domestic companies possessing innovative technologies and services. Selected companies are provided with commercialization funds along with accelerating programs for overseas expansion. Taking advantage of participation in this program, SpaceV plans to focus its capabilities on expanding the attraction of foreign customers staying in Korea and reducing the inconveniences foreign users experience from housing searches to contracts.
33m2 is a real estate platform that connects tenants to find and contract houses according to their required period and conditions after landlords register residential short-term rental homes. It provides a service matching consumers who need short-term contracts ranging from several weeks to several months with landlords who wish to rent out their properties.
Plans for multilingual environment construction and refinement of housing information
SpaceV plans to build a multilingual service environment and refine the method of providing housing information to increase convenience for foreign users. Additionally, it intends to expand the network between overseas local demand and domestic short-term rental housing, supporting foreigners to find suitable housing for their purpose and duration of stay more conveniently and safely.
Park Hyeong-jun, CEO of SpaceV, stated, "Due to the K-culture craze, demand from foreigners is increasing not only for studying abroad, business, and training, but also to experience Korea's residential culture. Based on the experience accumulated by 33m2 in the domestic short-term rental market, we will create new standards in the residential market for foreigners staying in the country."
