CJ ENM has achieved global dominance by securing six number one positions on Netflix this year through a multi-studio system spanning Korea, the United States, and Japan. The psychological thriller 'His & Hers' recorded 104 million cumulative views in the first half of 2026, surpassing the viewership record of 'Bridgerton' Season 4.

CJ ENM is proving its unrivaled content competitiveness in the global OTT market based on a global multi-studio system that connects Korea, the United States, and Japan. The company continues to see hits regardless of country or genre, with six of its works released this year recording number one positions on Netflix globally.

From Hollywood to K-drama, CJ ENM IP dominates Netflix

CJ ENM's global achievements have materialized through the combination of US and Korean production capabilities. Works produced by the US-based production company FIFTH SEASON have led global hits centered in Hollywood. The crime thriller film 'Animals', directed by and starring Ben Affleck, and the period drama 'East of Eden', starring Florence Pugh, both claimed number one spots in the Netflix global English film and English TV categories, respectively, immediately following their release in October.

In particular, the psychological thriller 'His & Hers' rose to number one among all series, recording 104 million cumulative views according to Netflix's reported viewership for the first half of 2026. This figure surpasses the record of approximately 100 million views set by the global mega-hit 'Bridgerton' Season 4.

The Korea-based Studio Dragon has also delivered successive victories in the Netflix global non-English show category. 'My Royal Nemesis' from subsidiary Gil Pictures and 'Teach You a Lesson', which involved production participation from GTist, both reached weekly number one positions, while 'Doctor X' also climbed to number one globally. '100 Days of Deception', a special project for the 20th anniversary of tvN, continued the trend of success by entering the Netflix global TOP 10 TV shows at number 8, according to the OTT ranking aggregator FlixPatrol.

Korea-Japan co-productions and global expansion of TVING originals

Content export models through international collaboration are also yielding results. The romantic comedy 'Merry Berry Love', co-produced by CJ ENM and Japan's NTV, reached number two on the Disney+ TV show worldwide chart and entered the TOP 10 in 72 countries and regions. Starring Ji Chang-wook and Mio Imada, the work is interpreted as a result of combining Korean production know-how with Japanese local marketing capabilities.

The overseas expansion of TVING original content is also active. 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' and 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier' reached number one on weekly charts in 81 countries, including the Americas and Europe, via Rakuten Viki. 'The Ordinary Jackpot', which recently concluded, confirmed a strong fandom in the Japanese market by ranking number one in the Japanese Disney+ drama category during both its premiere week and at the time of its conclusion.

These achievements are based on a 'global multi-studio' strategy that has secured production bases in each region. CJ ENM has established optimized production environments for each region through Studio Dragon and Studios in Korea, FIFTH SEASON in the US, and the local joint venture 'Studio Monowa' in Japan. Currently, CJ ENM and FIFTH SEASON are developing more than 10 joint projects incorporating Korean subject matter, with plans to nurture the premium IP secured through this into long-term mega IPs.
