Streamer Omar recently criticized viewers for submitting fabricated stories that mix extraordinary credentials with realistic worries, noting that many of the accounts involved were created only a few days prior. He warned that seeking comfort through fake admiration is a futile effort that leads to increased loneliness.

Streamer Omar, who encounters various life stories through his broadcasts, recently spoke out against a specific type of recurring false story. He urged people to stop creating "fantasy-like worries" designed solely to elicit fake admiration from others.

During a recent live broadcast, Omar mentioned the existence of "false stories" that follow a certain pattern among the submissions sent by viewers. He stated that while his role is to listen sincerely to any concerns regarding romance, career, or human relationships—and that sharing concerns is always welcome—he noted that a specific type of story has been repeating lately.

A mix of extraordinary specs and realistic worries: those acting out a 'fantasy'

The characteristic of the false stories identified by Omar is a strange mixture of "extraordinary life trajectories" and "realistic worries." Examples include someone considering dropping out of Seoul National University to pursue a dream after being accepted, or an employee at a large corporation earning a six-figure salary considering resignation to study. These cases also include individuals who premise their stories on being tall, handsome, and popular with women, only to worry about the jealousy of those around them.

While these stories may appear to be realistic concerns at first glance, they contain fantasy elements where the protagonist is set up as an extraordinary individual. Omar suggested these are fabricated tales, noting that upon tracking the accounts (IDs), many were found to have been created only a few days prior.

"Fake admiration provides no comfort": Sincere advice heavier than donations

Omar analyzed the purpose of such behavior as an attempt to enjoy the reactions of others. He suggested the intention is to induce reactions like "Wow, that's amazing" in the chat window regarding fabricated credentials, using that fake admiration as a source of comfort in life.

Interestingly, even though Omar recognizes these false stories, he does not reject them from a revenue (donation) perspective. "Even if the content is cringeworthy, I introduce all donations because they are revenue, so I just read them and provide an appropriate response," he said. This indicates he has accepted them to maintain the flow of the broadcast despite knowing they are false.

However, moving beyond consuming stories for mere entertainment, he expressed concern for the lives of those sending them. "Seeking comfort by listening to the fake admiration of people who believe your story is not a real life," Omar remarked, pointing out that "being amazed by fake credentials is a futile effort that means nothing to anyone."

He concluded with a message to those acting out fake lives, saying, "I hope you won't do that, even for your own sake," adding, "It is an obvious fact that the more you fall into a fake life, the lonelier you become." This served as a heavy message to those attempting to prove their existence through the gaze of others, going beyond simple broadcast feedback.
